Why the name "Truth and Way"?

The name Truth and Way is not a slogan. It is a confession.

It comes from Jesus’ own words in the Gospel of John: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.”
These words were not spoken as an abstract philosophy or a religious system, but as an invitation into a way of living shaped by trust, faithfulness, and hope. The name reflects both what we seek and how we seek it.

Truth Is Not an Idea We Control
In Scripture, truth is not primarily information, certainty, or correct opinions. Truth is relational. It is something revealed, lived, and embodied over time. Christian truth is not:
  • a weapon to win arguments
  • a system to dominate others
  • a collection of doctrines to master
Truth is disclosed in Jesus Christ, and it remains larger than any theology, institution, or tradition. To seek truth, therefore, is not to claim certainty, but to remain faithful to what God has revealed—especially where that truth confronts power, violence, and fear.

The Way Is Not a Program
Jesus did not offer a blueprint for religious success. He offered a way. The way of Christ is:
  • lived, not theorized
  • practiced, not possessed
  • walked together, not alone
It is a way marked by:
  • faithfulness in exile
  • hope without domination
  • love without coercion
  • truth spoken without violence
Christian faith is not primarily about escaping the world, but about living rightly within it.

Truth and Way Belong Together
Truth without a way becomes ideology. A way without truth becomes aimless. The Gospel holds them together.
Truth must be walked.
The way must be truthful.

This is why the ministry is called Truth and Way, not truth or way, and not truth about the way, but truth as the way of Christ made visible in the world.

Our Name Is Our Mission
The mission of Truth and Way is simple, but not shallow:
  • to tell the truth about God without fear
  • to expose distortions created by empire, nationalism, and power
  • to recover a Christ-centered, hope-filled faith
  • to announce the way of Jesus as a way of life, not an ideology
We do not exist to defend systems, preserve institutions, or promote religious certainty.
We exist to witness.

Truth Spoken, Way Walked
Truth and Way is shaped by a theology of hope rather than fear, by faithfulness rather than triumphalism, and by trust rather than control. We believe:
  • truth is revealed, not manufactured
  • the way of Christ is learned by walking it
  • faith matures through exile, doubt, and endurance
  • hope is stronger than despair
The name reflects a commitment not only to what we believe, but to how we live.

In Summary
Truth and Way names a calling. It confesses that:
  • truth is found in Christ
  • the way is lived in community
  • faith is practiced, not possessed
  • hope endures beyond empire
Our name is not a claim to authority.
It is an invitation to walk together in faithfulness.

                                                                           Our name is our mission:
To live and proclaim the Truth as the Way of Christ
